WoW Classic Stormpike Guard Alterac Valley Reputation Guide

May 10, 2021, 11:39:11 PST | Categories : WOW Classic |

The Stormpike Guard is a part of the Alliance fractions in the Alterac Valley Battlegrounds. They are an expedition of dwarves belonging to the Stormpike clan, who are natives to the Alterac Mountains. Their main objective is to search the valley for relics & artefacts of their dwarven ancestors, but instead, all of this led to a war with the Frostwolf Clan, who are Orcs that reside in the southern part of the Alterac Valley. King Magni Bronzebeard has issued a notice to allow the Stormpike Clan to rule over the valley for the Alliance fraction.

The Stormpike Guard base is located at the Headlands, which is in the southern area of the Alterac Valley. In the Headlands, there’s an entrance to the valley which is used as a queue to the battlegrounds, a place for vendors to set up their shops, and quest NPCs. You cannot reach the area using flight paths, but the closest one that you can use is Southshore in Hillsbrad Foothills.

Reputation Points

There are four different ways you can earn a reputation with Stormpike Guard:

Alterac Valley Activities

There are three activities in the Alterac Valley which you can participate in to gain reputation points:

I. Killing Enemies is an activity that is shared among all the members of the raid group, and these points are awarded at the very same moment during the Battlegrounds. Killing the Horde General Drek’Thar gives you 389 reputation points, Killing the Horde Captain Galvangar gives you 125 reputation points, Killing Horde Commanders grant you with 12 reputation points each, Killing Horde Air masters grant you with 5 reputation points each, Killing Horde Guards grants you with 5 reputation points each (However, it stops at rank; Honoured), Killing Horde Players grants you with 1 reputation point each, and Killing the Horde Summoned Boss Lokholar the Ice Lord will give you 125 reputation points.

II. Repeatable quests reward you with items that can be turned in to Dun Baldar to earn reputation points. Frostwolf Hide exchanges for 2 reputation points each, Alterac Ram exchanges for 1 reputation point each, Armour Scarps exchange for 1 reputation point per 20 items, Storm Crystal exchanges for 1 reputation point each, Frostwolf Soldier’s Medal exchanges for 1 reputation point each, Frostwold Lieutenant’s Medal exchanges for 2 reputation points each, and Frostwolf Commander’s Medal exchanges for 5 reputation points each.

III. End of Battleground activity occurs when the Alterac Vallery Battlegrounds match is over, and the following activities (if completed) grants you reputation points in the end. If the Horde General is killed, you’ll get 36 reputation points. If the Alliance Captain is kept alive, you’ll get 125 reputation points. If the Enemy Tower is destroyed, you’ll get 24 reputation points each. If the Enemy Commanders are killed, you’ll get 12 reputation points each. If the Bunkers are controlled or Intact, then you’ll get 12 reputation points each. If the Graveyards are controlled, you’ll get 12 reputation points each, and if the Mines are controlled as well, you’ll be provided with 12 reputation points each.

Alterac Valley Quests

Alterac Valley Quests are completed inside the valley itself, but they’re not repeatable and are a one-time quest that grants a good amount of reputation. The Battle of Alterac is a quest that requires you to win an Alterac Valley game, and upon doing so, you’ll be granted 200 reputation points. There’s also a follow-up quest called Hero of the Stormpike, which rewards you with a different variety of rare weapons. The Alterac Valley Graveyards is a quest where you’ll have to assault a graveyard, and if you’re successful, you’ll be granted 100 reputation points. Towers & Bunkers is a quest where you must assault a tower, or at least be close to a player who is assaulting one, and this rewards you with 100 reputation points. Capture a Mine is a quest that requires you to capture an enemy mine by defeating the leader, and if you’re objective is completed, you’ll be rewarded with 100 reputation points.

Marks of Honour

Marks of Honour is where you can turn in 3 Alterac Valley Mark of Honour to achieve 100 reputation points. Mark of Honours can be obtained by participating in the battleground. You get 3 for winning and 1 for losing.

Concerted Efforts

Concerted Effort is a quest that requires you to turn in 3 Marks of Honour badges from both, Warsong Gulch, as well as the Arathi Basin to achieve 200 reputation points. This quest is repeatable. However, upon further completions, you’ll only be awarded 150 reputation points.

The Stormpike Insignia Questline

Apart from the normal quests, there is also a questline available to players at different reputation levels. Completing the first quest will reward you the Stormpike Insignia Rank 1, which is a trinket that allows you to swiftly return to Dun Baldar in the Alterac Valley. This makes it easier to defend Dun Baldar during a Horde attack, as well as turn in the resources. The insignia is upgraded depending on your reputation levels and stops once you achieve the 6th insignia rank at Exalted.

Stormpike Insignia Rank 1 is achieved after completing the quest ‘Proving Grounds’. In this quest, you’ll have to go to the Icewing Caverns and retrieve the Stormpike banner. Doing so will grant you 100 reputation points. Stormpike Insignia Rank 2 is achieved after completing the quest ‘Rise and Be Recognized’. This quest is available to players with a Friendly reputation rank, and completing it rewards you with 100 reputation points. Stormpike Insignia Rank 3 is achieved after completing the quest ‘Honoured Amongst the Guard’. This quest is available to players with an Honoured reputation rank, and completing it rewards you with 100 reputation points. Stormpike Insignia Rank 4 is achieved after completing the quest ‘Earned Reverence’. This quest is available to players with a Revered reputation rank, and completing it rewards you with 150 reputation points. Stormpike Insignia Rank 5 is achieved after completing the quest ‘Legendary Heros’. This quest is available to players with Exalted reputation rank, and completing it rewards you with 200 reputation points. Stormpike Insignia Rank 6 is achieved after completing the quest ‘The Eye of Command’. This quest is available to players with Full Exalted (999/999) reputation rank.

Best of luck!
